OverDrive

Our Digital Collection Just Got a Personal Touch!

On January 5th, 2026 Overdrive and Libby will look different!

Get ready to explore what Overdrive has to offer on the new Aurora Public Library Overdrive Platform. While we've previously shared digital collections through a consortium, we will soon be offering a personalized Overdrive experience just for our community. This means better control over our collections, shorter wait times and curated lists tailored to you. All your favourite features and functions will remain the same, but a new and improved site will host a better selection of e-books, e-audiobooks, magazines and more!

We know change can bring questions, so please find some Frequently Asked Questions below to guide you through the transition smoothly. Whether you're wondering how to sign in, transfer your holds or access your favourite books, we've got you covered.

Overdrive FAQ

  • All holds will transfer over to our new platform on January 5th, but we are recommending that you make a note of your current holds in case there are any technical glitches that may occur during the transition that would remove your holds.

  • After the transition, all users will need to:

    1. Login to their Overdrive account (either on the website or on the Libby app) by selecting the Aurora Public Library in the drop down menu.
    2. Enter their library card number and pin.
  • Libby is a free app where you can enjoy ebooks, digital audiobooks, and magazines from your public library. You can stream titles with Wi-Fi or mobile data, or download them for offline use and read anytime, anywhere. All you need to get started is a library card.
