Help Shape the Future of Your Library
Community Survey for the Library’s Strategic Plan
Aurora Public Library is developing a new Strategic Plan that will guide library services, spaces and resources over the coming years. A strategic plan helps ensure the Library is planning thoughtfully, responding to change, and using resources responsibly to best meet the needs of our community.
As part of this process, we are asking community members to share their ideas, experiences, and priorities through a community survey. This survey is an important opportunity for residents to help inform how the Library evolves and how it continues to serve the community.
Your feedback will help the Library better understand what matters most to our community, where we are doing well, and where there may be opportunities to improve or adapt. Whether you use the Library often, occasionally, or are considering using it in the future, your perspective will help shape decisions and priorities moving forward.

Why are we doing this?
The Library is creating a new multi-year Strategic Plan that will set priorities for:
- Library services and programs
- Spaces and facilities
- Collections and digital resources
- Community partnerships and outreach
- How we support learning, connection, and access for all
The community survey is one of several ways we are gathering input to inform this plan.
How Will My Input Be Used?
Survey responses will be reviewed and analyzed alongside other community engagement activities, operational data, and environmental research.
Your feedback will help to:
- Identify key themes and priorities for the Strategic Plan
- Inform decision-making by Library leadership and the Library Board
- Guide service planning and resource allocation
Individual survey responses will remain confidential. Results will be reported in summary form.
Who Can Participate?
The survey is open to all members of the community, including:
- Library users and non-users
- Residents of all ages
- Families, students, seniors, and newcomers
- Community partners and stakeholders
We welcome a wide range of perspectives.
