Community Survey for the Library’s Strategic Plan
Aurora Public Library is developing a new Strategic Plan to guide library services, spaces, and resources in the coming years. A strategic plan helps ensure the Library is planning thoughtfully, responding to change, and using resources responsibly to meet community needs.
As part of this work, we are inviting community members to share their ideas and experiences through a community survey. There are two survey options available: a short survey that takes about 5 minutes to complete, and a more detailed survey that takes about 15 minutes. You may choose to complete either option based on the time you have available.

Why are we doing this?
The Library is creating a new multi-year Strategic Plan that will set priorities for:
- Library services and programs
- Spaces and facilities
- Collections and digital resources
- Community partnerships and outreach
- How we support learning, connection, and access for all
The community survey is one of several ways we are gathering input to inform this plan.
How Will My Input Be Used?
Survey responses will be reviewed and analyzed alongside other community engagement activities, operational data, and environmental research.
Your feedback will help to:
- Identify key themes and priorities for the Strategic Plan
- Inform decision-making by Library leadership and the Library Board
- Guide service planning and resource allocation
Individual survey responses will remain confidential. Results will be reported in summary form.
Who Can Participate?
The survey is open to all members of the community, including:
- Library users and non-users
- Residents of all ages
- Families, students, seniors, and newcomers
- Community partners and stakeholders
We welcome a wide range of perspectives.
