Underrated Rom-Coms

Here are some rom-coms (romantic-comedies) that deserve their flowers and time in the sun, and we're gonna celebrate them right now!

  1. While You Were Sleeping (DVD FIC While)

    While You Were Sleeping

Sandra Bullock falls in love with a man she doesn’t know, only to find his brother (Bill Pullman) more attractive. She may be the first person in the history of ever to do this!

  2. Roofman (MOVIE ROOFM)

    Roofman (2025) - IMDb

Can you classify this as a rom-com? It’s based on a real story of a serial thief turned adoring stepdad with a secret past. Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst KILL in this one!

  3. Austenland (available on Hoopla)

    Austenland (2013) - IMDb

What happens when you spend your life savings on a Jane Austen experience, and you didn’t pay enough, so now you’re roleplaying as a poor woman with ugly, brown dresses and you get the small room and no one is nice to you, but you watch your new friend who paid a lot more than you did and got to have everything you wanted? You fall in love, of course!

  4. 500 Days of Summer (available on Hoopla)

    500 Days of Summer (2009) - IMDb

The epic highs and lows of a tumultuous work relationship between Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and Summer (Zooey Deschanel) is a car crash you can’t help but watch intensely. It’s not exactly a romance or a comedy, but there are enough of both elements to make this one a keeper!

  5. The F Word (MOVIE F)

    The F Word (2013 film) - Wikipedia

Can you be friends with someone you’re in love with, who also has a boyfriend already? We’re going to let adult Harry Potter tell us!

  6. Crazy Stupid Love (MOVIE Crazy)

Crazy Stupid Love [Import]: Amazon.ca: Movies & TV Shows

Love can be expressed in a million different ways, but the most important part is being there for each other. And never, ever letting David Lindhagen win.
