In partnership with the Ontario Genealogical Society, join us to explore how to start your family history. This presentation provide tips on some of the types of records available and how to access them, along with helpful hints and pitfalls to avoid as you conduct your research. Learn about the electronic resources available at Aurora Public Library, and learn techniques to find the best information without relying on the first page of search results.

We'll review databases by Gale and EBSCO available at APL. Participants will learn searching techniques like Boolean keywords, truncation, and subject search to go beyond initial search results. Case studies will be used to show examples and compare search results between search techniques.
