Home Alone Program

Designed by the Canadian Safety Council, this program helps prepare 9 – 11 year olds for being home alone during short periods of time.  Participants will learn basic first aid and safety procedures, as well as to recognize hazards, and when and how to use 911.  Offered in partnership with St. John Ambulance.

Teddy Bear Tea for Grandma, Grandpa, and Me

Bring your favourite teddy and grandma or grandpa along for tea time and fun at the Library to celebrate Ontario Seniors’ Month!

We’ll have crafts and activities, provide lots of fun books for you to read together or check out, and of course, we’ll give you a delicious tea! Please note, the event is nut free and we will have gluten and dairy free options.

Drag Queen Storytime!

A magical story time experience hosted by Eva Lasting! Children are invited to come get involved in stories that they will love! These stories will help children learn that it's great to be who you are! Parts of the event will be interactive (but participation is optional). Children will get to be part of the story, wear some silly costumes and even strut their stuff bringing out their inner performer! Feel free to come dressed in your best glamorous outfit!

March Break: Cardboard Challenge!

What can you build with cardboard? Drop in and find out! Will you build a city, a car, a machine or something else entirely? We’ll have the cardboard, scissors, sticky stuff and decorations, but what you make is up to you!

Join Magician Peter Mennie for the Funniest Magic Show Around! Is it comic magic or magical comedy? We’re not sure, but we know you’ll love it. Tricks, jokes and lots of exciting fun and March Break magic!

Holiday Makeshop!

Whether you celebrate Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Saturnalia, or just the fact that winter’s coming, it’s time to come to the library and make things! Make holiday cards or gifts, or just have fun inventing your own crafty something!

Library Building Days

Join us for some creative building fun at the Library’s Building Days! We have lots of LEGO® and Duplo® for you to build with, and awesome books to give you ideas! You’ll have a chance to meet new friends and work together with them to make amazing LEGO® creations!

Please do not bring your own LEGO® pieces with you. Parents/guardians must remain in the library.
